Premium Organic Landscape Mulch
The Premium Organic Landscape Mulch that Owen Tree Service produces comes from recycled local trees. Our virgin wood fiber is a double-grind or triple-grind mulch that is aged to a chocolate brown color. Our Premium Organic Landscape Mulch is ideal for landscape use and provides a nutritional benefit to your landscape garden soils. Many landscapers consider our Premium Organic Mulch to be the best mulch available because it is very easy to spread and provides a very manicured appearance after it is installed.
There are many benefits to mulching your trees, shrubs, and landscape beds. Perhaps most beneficial is that using an organic landscape mulch like ours enriches the soil as the mulch breaks down through natural decomposition. Other benefits of landscape mulch include:
• Keeping damaging lawn equipment away from tree trunks
• Retains soil moisture
• Suppresses weed growth
• Moderates soil temperatures for improved root growth
Landscape soils are usually very different from the woodland soils where trees naturally grow. Landscape plantings are often growing on compacted, infertile subsoil that was exposed during construction. Many landscapes incorporate large lawn areas. Over time, grass plants change the soil by raising the pH and encouraging colonization by grass-friendly microorganisms. Woody plants generally prefer a lower pH and thrive when aided by the type of tree-friendly microbes that can flourish in our Premium Organic Mulch.
Landscape mulching creates an environment that is similar to the natural woodland floor, yet is attractive. As the landscape mulch breaks down, soil pH is lowered and the nutrients and microorganisms that trees depend on are released. Shredded bark mulch, landscape bark mulch, or wood chips from exotic trees (such as Red Cedar) do not supply everything your landscape trees and shrubs require.
Why import mulch when native mulch made from local trees is better! Call us today to incorporate a bit of the local forest floor into your landscape soil.
